The boys varsity soccer team practices every day after school for two hours. They face their rival, Lyons Township High School, on Friday, Sept. 25 at LT.

The boys soccer team is preparing for one of its biggest games against their long-time rival, Lyons Township. The soccer game will be held at Lyons Township on Sept. 25 at 7:00 p.m., and fans are eagerly waiting to watch another rousing soccer game.

“The LT game is our biggest rivalry of the season. They’re always a great team and every time we play them the games are the hardest fought of any game during the season,” said Jim Walker, senior and midfielder.

After losing many seniors last year, the new and returning players will get a chance to face off with one of their toughest rivals, and show off their hard work from the off season.

“I don’t think the team has necessarily gotten better or worse. We lost a lot of key players from last year but we have a lot of new players who are willing to step up and fill in their role,” said Nick Silva, senior.

Winning against Lyons Township last year, the players have the bar set high for the team. Both teams have been training intensely for this game making it action-packed.

“I’m super excited to play against LT this year. We know that they are talented but if you go into the game scared you will play scared. We also knocked them out of the playoffs last year so they will be looking for some revenge,” Silva said.

The soccer game will be a thrill for both the players and the crowd. Central fans, make sure to pack the stands at Lyons Township.
