#18 Northwestern (3-0) vs. Maine (3-0)

Venue: Ryan Field

Date: Saturday, Sep 21

Time: 2:30 p.m

The Cats, ranked at No. 18, cruised past Western Michigan last week. Now, they will be looking to defeat Maine and head into B1G play undefeated. It was up in the air but Venric Mark ended up not playing. Treyvon Green took advantage, rushing for 158 yards and two TDs on twenty carries. The Maine Black Bears are an FCS team, but that hasn’t meant much as of late. They knocked off a FBS team in UMass in week two while Kansas State loss to North Dakota State in week one. Prediction: Northwestern 31-13

#22 Notre Dame (2-1) vs. Michigan State (3-0)

Venue: Notre Dame Stadium

Date: Saturday, Sep 21

Time: 2:30 p.m

Tommy Football? Rees, with 309 yards and 2 TDs, led the Irish to 21 fourth quarter points en route to a comeback victory over Purdue. Now Notre Dame will be taking on Michigan State, who averages more points per game (34) and less points against (12) than the Irish. The main concern for MSU on defense will be containing wide receiver DaVaris Daniels who exploded for a 8, 167, 2 line against Purdue. On the other side of the ball, the Spartans will be led by redshirt sophomore QB Connor Cook, who has thrown four touchdowns and zero interceptions through the first three games. Prediction: Michigan State 24 -10

#15 Michigan (3-0) at Connecticut (0-2)

Venue: Rentschler Field

Date: Saturday, Sep 21

Time: 7:00 p.m

Apparently the donuts didn’t work. Brady Hoke and the Wolverines barely survived against the Zips of Akron. This week Michigan is headed to a sold out Rentschler Field to take on the Huskies. UConn has struggled this year, losing their first game to Towson, a FCS team. While allowing 33 points to a FCS team is no sign of success, Michigan knows not to take the Huskies lightly. This will be a huge test for Michigan, their first road game of the season. Devin Gardner will need to forget about his three interception performance against Akron and move on. Prediction: Michigan 38-21

Iowa (2-1) vs. Western Michigan (0-3)

Venue: Kinnick Stadium

Date: Saturday, Sep 21

Time: 11:00 a.m

The Hawkeyes knocked off in state rival Iowa State last week, rushing the ball 60 times en route to a 27-21 win. Jake Rudock, after 2 TDs and 160 yards last week, will look to continue his recent hot streak against Western Michigan. The Broncos are still looking for their first win of the season. They are playing a third B1G team this year, the first two being Michigan State and Northwestern. Prediction: Iowa 27-14

Byes: Illinois
