Remembering Abbey Bott

Today Eileen Horton, freshman, wore blue in remembrance of Abbey Bott, a Central alumnus who recently passed away. Blue was Bott’s favorite color. In addition, students signed a banner outside the cafeteria throughout the day.

“It’s nice that they have a sign up for people to sign,” Horton said.

Bott had babysat for Horton before. However, even those who didn’t know Bott participated in these remembrances. For example, freshman Olivia Cirignani didn’t know Bott, but decided to wear blue in remembrance because of the wonderful things she’d heard about her.

“She was literally friends with anyone,” said Gabby Trainyte, senior, who coordinated the banner signing. “She always stayed positive about everything.”

Announcements and moments of silence have also been observed to honor Bott.  Horton believes that these announcements are a good way for students keep the Bott family in their minds.

Central students will wear blue again tomorrow, and a wake will be held tonight at the Hallowell and James Funeral Home.
